I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
